April is National Minority Health Month

This year’s theme is Health Equity Can’t Wait. Act Now in Your CommUNITY!, which is a call to action and unity for the regions, the state and local offices of minority health, the health departments and all the organizations and partners involved and invested in reducing health disparities.

All settings of health care are tasked to work on working to reducing the health disparities that currently exist.  The HHQI Underserved Population (UP) Best Practice Intervention Package (BPIP) is to serve as a resource for home health agencies and other settings to learn more about health disparities and other underserved issues for leadership to:

  • Increase awareness
  • Initiate ways for agencies to conduct assessment of community issues and needs
  • Provide action items of tools, resources, and education

What is your agency doing to improve minority health?  We would love to hear what your agency is doing to share with other agencies across the country – just contact HHQI@wvmi.org
